I'm obviously looking forward to The Prisoner of Heaven, but will be keeping a lid on my excitement: after getting my hopes up for The Angel's Game, I think it better to remain cool-headed for now...Meytal Radzinskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15805413335735169073noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8344853420220777382.post-11954005635349785322012-07-04T09:29:55.036-07:002012-07-04T09:29:55.036-07:00I think that's a fair comment crimepieces. In fact it felt a TAD unfair to have so blatantly set up the next book...but I guess I knew at some point we'd get a cliffhanger and I suppose this was it.GunMetalBluehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10374362891687088611noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8344853420220777382.post-77348077918914664942012-07-04T01:41:33.538-07:002012-07-04T01:41:33.538-07:00I think I'm with Rob on this one but I'm s...I think I'm with Rob on this one but I'm still mulling it over. I aboslutely loved 'Shadow of the Wind' and thought 'Angel's Game' not quite up to the first book's standard but still good.
I read 'Prisoner of Heaven' on my kindle but like Rob was alarmed at how short the book appeared to be. It seems to set up a story for a later book and very little was actually resolved in this one.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8344853420220777382.post-35008497134415777592012-06-28T07:08:56.906-07:002012-06-28T07:08:56.906-07:00I suppose it was own fault for letting both my exp...I suppose it was own fault for letting both my expectation and excitement build to such high levels. I had a premonition when the book appeared out of its jiffy bag (I purchased online) I didn’t like the size and found it difficult to comfortably hold and it looked thin. But surely CRZ won’t disappoint I thought as I revelled in opening to the first page...........278 pages later I do feel let down. Although he still has a superb writing style – this one just did not ignite for me and none of his usually waspish similes have stuck in my mind. I was not comfortable with the Daniel/Cascos scene, just did not seem right or in character.
Left me feeling short changed.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13468140560756430446noreply@blogger.com
